Terms of service

These terms cover your order of a personalized animated episode from Snoutwood Studios ("we", "us"), which is [LEGAL BUSINESS NAME, e.g. Snoutwood Studios LLC], a [STATE] limited liability company. By placing an order, you agree to these terms.

1. What you're ordering

• A 60-second animated episode starring one dog, made from the photos you send us.
• Your dog's name shown on screen and spoken by a narrator, and a gift card at the end with the names you give us.
• A bonus cartoon character portrait of your dog.
• Delivery by email (a link to watch and download) within 48 hours of receiving your completed order and photos. If something delays us, we'll email you.

Right now we make episodes for dogs only, one dog per episode.

2. How episodes are made (AI-assisted)

Episodes are made with the help of artificial intelligence (AI) tools. We plan the stories and worlds, and AI tools help us draw your dog's character, paint the scenes, animate them and create the narrator's voice. A person checks every episode before it's sent.

Your dog's character is an artistic, cartoon interpretation in the Snoutwood house style, not a photograph. Small details may be simplified, and every character wears our signature red studio collar. If the character doesn't look like your dog, our guarantee applies (see section 7).

3. Your photos

When you send us photos, you confirm that:

• you took the photos yourself or have permission to use them, and
• you have the right to have the dog in them made into a cartoon (for example, it's your dog, or the owner has said yes).

You keep ownership of your photos. You give us permission to use them only to make, deliver, fix and support your order. We delete your photos 90 days after we deliver your episode (see our Privacy policy).

4. What you may do with your episode (personal-use license)

Your episode and portrait are licensed to you for personal, non-commercial use. You may watch, download and keep them, share them with family and friends, and post them on your own personal social media accounts.

You may not sell them, use them to advertise or promote a business or product, or license them to anyone else. We keep all rights in our story worlds, artwork, characters' house style, music and the Snoutwood name and logo.

5. How we use your episode

We never use your episode, your photos or your dog's name in our marketing unless you opt in (for example, by ticking the box on the order form or telling us yes by email). If you opt in and later change your mind, email us and we'll stop any new use.

6. Prices and payment

An episode is $39 for one dog. Another episode with the same dog is $24. Prices are in US dollars. Payments are processed by Stripe. We never see or store your full card number.

7. Our guarantee and refunds

Looks like your pet, or your money back. If your episode doesn't look like your dog, email us within 7 days of delivery and tell us in one sentence what doesn't look right. We'll redo it once using your note, and if it still doesn't look like your dog, we'll refund you in full.

• The guarantee covers likeness only. It doesn't cover a change of mind or not liking the story, music or style, because we can't take a video back once we've sent it.
• One refund per customer.
• If we refund you, your personal-use license (section 4) ends, so please delete the video.

8. Orders we can't take

We may decline an order, for example if the photos don't show a dog clearly, show people, or seem to be of someone else's pet without permission, or if a name or message is hurtful or offensive. If we decline an order, we refund it in full.

9. Limits of our responsibility

We work hard to make every episode right, but we provide it "as is". To the extent the law allows, our total responsibility for any claim about an order is limited to the amount you paid for that order. Nothing in these terms limits rights you have under consumer protection law that can't be limited.

10. Changes and governing law

We may update these terms. The version on this page when you order is the one that applies to your order. These terms are governed by the laws of [STATE].
